We were delighted to speak with Balázs Stumpf-Biró and launch our Weaving Salon Series and initiate our #StoryWeaving for the upcoming World Adaptation Forum, happening in Budapest and online, from 23-24 April 2026. Bringing our spirit of art, beauty and the spirit of the rivers, forests and the more than human world 🍄 🌿 🐞
🌍 The Forum will dive deep into conversations of #collapsology, with @pabloservigne2979 Gaya Herrington, @MayaFrost, Juan B. García Martínez, Elisabeth van Ebbenhorst Tengbergen and other leading hearts and minds. In a space for deep engagement, the intention is to activate and integrate the creativity of letting go, facing factual reality, honoring of what is being lost, and inviting the nascent imagination to shape the future without false illusions.
🌻 The initiative was born from collaboration with @jembendell and inspiration from his #DeepAdaptation work, which opened an honest, courageous inquiry into the real possibilities of collapse of modern, industrial society in our lifetimes. Steeped in the resonance of Hungary’s post-communist transformations, Balazs together with his colleague Zsolt Szalóczy developed the world’s largest and most active Deep Adaptation group, with Jem commenting: “If you want to do this right, talk to the Hungarians.”
🌺 The first World Adaptation Forum meeting was held in 2024, when Jem travelled to Hungary to meet with local collapsologists and celebrate the vibrancy of the movement and the translation of his second book into Hungarian. Now in its third iteration, the Forum will invite open mind, open heart, open will engagement with Jem Bendell’s 4R’s: resilience, relinquishment, restoration and reconciliation, making peace with the reality and looking to the creative, joyful and generative possibilities that may arise from letting go of what cannot be saved or fixed, to adapt and embrace the future in the joy of community.
